Hybrid and remote work are common across the UAE now, but a sofa or dining table isn't built for eight-hour days. A few small changes to your setup make a real difference to how you feel by evening.
Set up your desk properly
- Screen height: the top of your screen at or slightly below eye level. Stack books under a laptop and use a separate keyboard.
- Chair: feet flat on the floor, knees roughly level with hips.
- Arms: elbows close to your body, around a right angle.
- Light: sit side-on to windows to reduce glare.
Move every 30 to 45 minutes
No setup is perfect if you sit still all day. Stand up, stretch, refill your water, or take calls standing.
Tools that help
Posture reminder
A posture corrector gives a gentle reminder to sit tall and roll your shoulders back. Use it for short periods to build the habit rather than all day. The Smart Adjustable Posture Corrector is 49 AED.
Grip and hand exercise
Typing all day? Short sets with a Grip Strength Trainer (39 AED) are an easy desk-break exercise.
Keep drinks at the right temperature
A Stainless Steel Coffee Mug with Lid (60 AED) keeps coffee hot and cold drinks cold through back-to-back calls.
After work
