How to Clean Your Car Interior in the UAE: Sand, Heat and Smells

UAE drivers spend hours in their cars every week. Sand gets into the carpets, heat bakes smells into the seats, and the dashboard collects dust fast. A regular interior clean keeps your car fresh and protects its value.

Your interior cleaning checklist

1. Clear everything out

Remove bottles, receipts, shopping bags and floor mats.

2. Shake and wash the mats

Beat sand out of the mats, then wash rubber mats with water. A Car Pressure Washer (99 AED) makes this quick.

3. Vacuum seats and carpets

Start from the top and work down. Use a narrow nozzle between seats, where sand and crumbs hide. For fabric seats, a 360° Dust Mite Vacuum (99 AED) is lightweight and made for fabric surfaces.

4. Wipe hard surfaces

Use a microfibre cloth and an interior cleaner on the dashboard, doors and steering wheel. Avoid glossy dressings on the dashboard; they can cause glare in strong sun.

5. Clean the glass inside

A film builds up inside windscreens in the heat. Clean it with glass cleaner and two cloths: one to clean, one to buff.

6. Freshen the air

Leave doors open for a few minutes to air it out, then add a fragrance you love. A Car Bukhoor Burner (69 AED) gives your car a rich, traditional scent.

Protect your interior from the heat

  • Use a windscreen sunshade every time you park outside.
  • Park in the shade where possible.
  • Don't leave power banks, perfume, aerosols or lighters in a hot car.

How often?

  • Weekly: quick vacuum and dashboard wipe
  • Monthly: full interior clean
  • After camping or beach trips: deep clean to remove sand
